I am glad to welcome all the participants of the 27th Far Eastern Energy Forum "Sakhalin Oil and Gas"!
This year we are celebrating the 95th anniversary of the Sakhalin petroleum industry. A huge development has been conducted - from Zotov first wooden oil rig to world-class projects. They have become a breakthrough in technological, technical and environmental areas. Many engineering designs which are currently used in the Arctic projects have been tested in Sakhalin subarctic conditions.
With the start of Sakhalin offshore projects, the Russian Far East has received additional economic growth opportunities and the Sakhalin Region has become a recognized oil and gas production center in the country and the world.
For many years, the island region has been setting the trend in the industry development so Sakhalin Oil and Gas Forum is an important platform for discussing and making strategic decisions, strengthening international cooperation and mutually beneficial cooperation..
This year, the development of the energy industry of Sakhalin and the Far East under restrictions will be in the main focus, as well as import substitution, and the implementation of climate projects.
